Example Confirmation Confession Assignment

I chose Baptism for my Confirmation Confession. The Catechism says that we use water, but it is not plain water. “it is the water included in God’s command and combined with God’s word.” It is God’s word that makes baptism powerful. God promised to give me forgiveness in baptism, even if I couldn’t explain it in my own words. I was a little baby when I was baptized, but God can do what He wants in His holy word. The forgiveness didn’t depend on me doing anything. It is God’s Word that does work.

How do I know that I’m forgiven? God promised it in Mark 16:16. There He said “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved.  It is a miracle that God does.

It is important to me because I know that I do things wrong. I know that I have not worked hard in school when I was supposed to. I know I haven’t obeyed my parents like when I talk back to them and don’t respect them. These sins God forgives me because I know that forgiveness belongs to me because God promised it in my baptism.

I would also like to thank my ____ for loving me and forgiving me and making sure I hear God’s word and go to church and learn. Thanks for taking me to Sunday School or VBS. Thanks for pointing out when I was wrong about something and then forgiving me.

Dear Father in Heaven, thank you for your gifts in Baptism that Jesus earned for me on the cross. Thanks your for (something from your life). Please keep me faithful to your word and come to your sacrament often for forgiveness. Bless us in your holy name.
Amen
